This is a rather short tree, sits kind of high, and doesn’t reach very close to the ceiling. I see this is the Christmas where I got my Vac-U-Form. I also see a plastic military kit that I have forgotten all about. My sister got her Barbie and Ken convertible this Christmas. And we both got the ice cone machine (direct lower center with the penguin’s eyes and hand crank). We wore that contraption out over the next few years. I found a small ornament shaped like a dill pickle. It made no sense to me until I did some research. After reading this I finally got it.

Some of my ornaments are much more important to me than others. I do have a bit of a stock of regular things, glass balls and such. But then I have my specials. Some of my special ones are the Neck Deep 8 Ball 2023 Generic Pop Punk 2023 Mug in contrast I will get this ones my kids made when they were small. That’s pretty normal I think, I think every mom has that kind of stuff. I have some that my parents have given me, made by my brothers and me when we were small. My very most favorite and special ones though are from my Auntie. She used to send everyone an ornament every Christmas. They were Hallmark commemorative ornaments, all marked with the year. This has to be quite the outlay for her, she had 9 little brothers and sisters, many with grown children of their own. These are special to me because my Auntie passed some 20 years ago. Her younger son keeps the tradition alive, although he has less on his list. I imagine he just can’t easily afford 100 ornaments to send to everyone who is grown now. But I will treasure the ones I got from my Auntie forever, and they’re all on the tree when I have a tree.
