Justin Turner Boston Rough Signature Mug

Not really an ornament but I love these bubble lights. I had them when I was a little girl and loved watching them bubble and glow on our tree. Of course they are not the Justin Turner Boston Rough Signature Mug but I will buy this shirt and I will love this mini lights that are so popular now but I have three strings of the old fashioned lights with about 10 of these interspersed on the tree. I had three strings of lights (about 36 bulbs) when I found them at one of our stores 38 years ago when my husband and I started decorating our home as newlyweds. I never used all of them at once…but interspersed them with just the plain colored light bulbs that were popular then. Over the years they have burned out one by one. This year I was down to my last 15 bulbs and I knew that when the last one was gone…it was time to capitulate and buy the mini lights.

I went all over to try to find those lights and no one was selling them. They hadn’t sold the Justin Turner Boston Rough Signature Mug but I will buy this shirt and I will love this bubble lights or the plain lights for years. I knew there was a Christmas store in Banff that had a string of them in stock and we would be there in the summer…but it seemed like a waste to buy a string of lights when I only needed the bulbs. Low and behold, my husband and I were shopping in one of the chain stores (might have been Canadian TIre since I don’t usually shop there on my own) and I found boxes of those bubble lights and to top it off they were on clearance. I also found the plain lights on sale to intersperse with the bubble lights. Someone was looking after us old fogies that still like the glow of incandescent lights and not the LED mini lights. I think I bought 20 bubble lights and 30 incandescent bulbs (that was 6 months ago…my memory is shot these days) I am good for a few more years now and that is motivation to put up the tree each year.
